AXLERATE Is MIT Pune`S Department Of Mechanical Engineering`S Annual Techfest. AXLERATE Is Now In Its 16th Year, Each Year, Being Better And Bigger Than The Last. Originally Conceived By Prof. PB Joshi As Mechanical Week, It Was Supposed To Be A Week Full Of Guest Lectures, Demonstrations And Other Cocurricular Activities. It Was Only In 2005, That Mechanical Week Was Compressed Into A 3 Day Event, Focusing More On Entertaining Yet Educational Events. Events Range From Building RC Rally Cars And Racing Them To Charting Out Comprehensive Business Plans. As The Years Went By, The Event Evolved And Included In It Fun Zones And Games. Today AXLERATE Has Evolved Into One Of Pune`S Most Anticipated Techfest`S, With Participants From All Over The Country Taking Part In It. Each Year The Event Is Sponsored By Industrial Goliaths Such As Herohonda, Nissan, Mahindra Etc. Various Dignitaries Are Also Present During The Event, As Both Spectators As Well As Judges. This Year's AXLERATE 2013 Is Going To Be Spread Over Two Days, 22nd And 23rd February, That's Two Days Loaded With Fun And Interesting Events And Exhibitions. The Events Are Divided Into Four Nodes: Technical, Nontechnical, Funzone And Workshops.
